Wine making is an integral part of the history of France.  Guigone de Salins, a 20 year old aristocrat, married the nouveau riche Iron Chancellor of Burgundy, and went on to found the Hospices de Beaune. The Prince of Conti, who bought Domaine de la Romanée-Conti for his personal consumption, was brought down to earth by the King's mistress. The centuries change, but the themes remain the same - love, power, intrigue, and of course - the wine!
